Custom-modified Helios-44-2 with altered internal optical behavior, designed to produce a dense, grain-like background structure and a print-like color rendering.

The modification affects the way out-of-focus highlights are formed, resulting in a mosaic-style bokeh pattern with visible micro-structure rather than smooth blur. In certain lighting conditions, the background may resemble chromogenic photographic prints or colored glass surfaces.

You can smoothly adjust the degree of effect with the aperture ring.

Restored using modern lubricants. The glass is washed with Zeiss products inside and out. The aperture control ring has been redesigned and now shows the correct aperture value, and not the other way around, as on all standard Helios 44-2. The ends of the glass were blackened to enhance the contrast of the lens.
