The rear cap has a hole. You don’t have to remove it if you’re using a lens on an APS-C or M4/3 mirrorless camera. On a full-frame camera, it’s best to remove the cap because it will introduce a slight vignette. You also need to make sure to remove this when installing on a SLR camera. The cap unscrews clockwise.
